Sherita LoveSherita Love is a wife and loving mother of three daughters. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She has worked for the YMCA in various capacities for over 6 years.
Sherita began her education career in 2007 working with elementary students in the Webster Groves School District to improve their math and reading skills. Because of her dedication to student success, she was chosen to become Love and Logic trained and received social justice in educational equity training. Sherita now serves as the Learning Labs and Science Gone Mad Program Director at Y Community Literacy. In the Learning Labs, Sherita oversees after-school math and reading sites at the Monsanto, Emerson and Carondelet Park YMCA’s. The program also serves students in two Ferguson-Florissant Elementary Schools. In the Science Gone Mad Program, Sherita oversees staff that work with students in seven school sites on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Learning. Aside from her role as a director, she is also a national trainer with the YMCA of the USA in Leadership and Diversity and Inclusion courses for professional staff across the country. Sherita has a specific passion for helping young girls and women reach their full potential. She has chosen to dedicate her energy, time and passion to youth education and empowerment. Sherita works with staff, teachers, students, families and communities to promote student success through continual staff professional development and support, high quality education, and family engagement. |
Who is your "Shero" ? |
My "Shero" is Oprah Winfrey. Her life
inspires me because she has overcome so much to change the world that we live
in today. She believes in the power of education and
the power that lies within changing your mindset to be effective...to be
whole.

What is your GLAMM Role? |
I am the Program Executive Director of GLAMM. I oversee the management for the organization including coordination, recruiting, fund development, collaborations, event planning, and college career preparation.

Why did you join the GLAMM TEam? |
I am the change! I have been called to help young women see themselves, realize their potential, and to start down the path of both self realization and actualization. I want young women to have what I needed growing up. |
